How to get your Car Learners Permit in Victoria
- You must be at least 16 years old
- Either attend a SafeDrive Education Program or purchase and read the "Road To Solo Driving" (available in 12 languages)
- Make an appointment at a VicRoads Office or phone 131 171 to make a booking. (in country areas, some councils offices conduct the learners test)
- Appointment - $10.60
- Learner Permit Test - $18.10
- Victorian Learner Driver Permit Card - $18.30
- Total Cost - $47.00
- An eye test then a computerised multiple choice test based on the "Road To Solo Driving" handbook.
- Proof of identity required
- A certificate from a doctor required if a medical condition or disability exists.
