Benefits for parents/supervising driver:
- Road Law: Instructor covers each rule in the Road to Solo Driving Handbook. Using multimedia as an aid, gives a more visual understanding of the rules. Includes a practice Road Law Test.
- Systems of Driving: Two are used to demonstrate how systems play a in safe driving. 1. How to approach an intersection to turn right and 2. How to overtake a vehicle traveling on a carriageway.
- Vehicle Familiarisation: Students get to know the car. From how to check the under the bonnet to setting themselves up in the drivers seat.
- Emergency Procedure: Learn what safety steps to take in an event the car breaks down. Students carry out a wheel change.
- Fatigued & Driving: A look at how food, work and not resting can affect our driving, thus placing us at a greater risk of having a collision.
School Programs.
Year 10 Students
SafeDrive Education can deliver this program to schools using their own facilities either during school or after hours.
Bus
We also offer schools group training for its teachers and staff in the Coaster Bus. (Light rigid greater than 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass) We conduct theoretical training at the school and then move onto the road to gain experience. Students can then book into their local testing station for the drive test at their convenience. (Road phase is conducted over a full day of driving in road conditions they will experience in transporting their students to and from venues)
